Position Purpose
We are seeking a Science Teacher with a specialisation in Senior Physics, who is also experienced in delivering engaging and effective Middle/Senior School Science programs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly successful and well-resourced Science Department, known for its collegial culture and commitment to sharing resources, ideas, and best practice.

The successful applicant will be passionate about inspiring young women in the sciences and committed to contributing to a learning environment that promotes curiosity, rigour, and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in Senior Physics and Middle/Senior School Science
  • Differentiate instruction to cater for a range of student abilities and learning styles
  • Assess student performance using a variety of tools aligned with curriculum expectations
  • Collaborate with colleagues in planning and resource development
  • Contribute to the co-curricular and broader life of the School
  • Maintain a strong commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care
  • Uphold the values and Anglican ethos of St Hilda’s School

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable educator who can bring energy and expertise to the Science classroom, particularly in the area of Physics. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A teaching qualification in Science with a specialisation in Physics
  • Experience teaching Senior Physics and Middle/Senior School Science
  • A commitment to innovative, evidence-based teaching practices
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A student-centred mindset with a commitment to pastoral care
  • Essential:
  • Queensland College of Teachers registration (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Willingness to be submitted to the Anglican Church’s Professional Standards Register
  • Alignment with the School’s values and Anglican Christian ethos
