Sunshine Coast Health is a values-based organisation. We are committed to the maintenance of a culture in which we treat our colleagues with respect as we do our patients, consumers and the community. We respect, protect and promote human rights in our decision-making and actions.

The Senior Communications Officer supports the delivery of internal and external communication activities that help inform, engage, and connect staff and stakeholders. The role involves writing, editing, and publishing content across a variety of channels, supporting events and campaigns, and assisting with digital media and content creation. No two days are the same, and we enjoy solving problems creatively, responding quickly when things change, and producing work that genuinely makes a difference.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Write engaging content for digital and traditional media channels to appeal to a broad range of demographics
  • Draft content for internal communications to build on and support Sunshine Coast Health's culture
  • Find innovative ways of promoting health service functions to the people who use our services
  • Create digital content including desktop publishing, video content, and photography and optimise for expanded reach and engagement.

Remuneration value up to $131,052 p.a., comprising salary between $105,568 - $114,861 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO5). About Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service

Birtinya, QLD, Australia

Public health services in Queensland are provided through 16 Hospital and Health Services (HHS). These are statutory bodies each governed by a Hospital and Health Board. Some public health services are also provided by private providers.

The Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland, including monitoring the performance of HHSs.

Service agreements are negotiated between the Department of Health and each HHS. The service agreement determines the services that the department will purchase from the HHS and how much it will pay for the provision of these services (ie. the level of funding to be provided).
