Harriss Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors are a small public practice of over 10 years that is located in Morningside, QLD. Join our dynamic and flexible team as an intermediate business services accountant and assist in providing accounting, taxation and business advisory services to our clients.

Position

You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive range of accounting and taxation services to a diverse range of clients including companies, trusts, self-managed superannuation funds and individuals. These services include:

· Preparing financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and self-managed superannuation funds

· Managing BAS, payroll tax and FBT obligations

· Assisting clients with MYOB, Xero and other online accounting software

· Assisting with QBCC lodgements, tax planning and advisory work

· Liaising with the ATO, auditors and clients as required

· Supporting the team with general business services and client queries

The position involves working in a small team and reporting directly to the partner of the firm. The position has opportunities for the successful employee to grow into a management level role.

Qualifications

We are seeking an intermediate accountant who:

· Has obtained an accounting degree from an Australian university

· Is in the process of completing their CA qualifications

· Has at least 2 years of public practice experience

· Solid knowledge of Australian taxation compliance

· Strong problem solving and analytical skills

· Solid communication skills (both verbal and written)

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Xero (Handisoft, BGL Simple Fund 360 advantageous)
