The Company
For the last 30+ years, our client has manufactured purpose built pumping systems designed to their client’s requirements and specifications with a proven reputation of high quality, reliability and service.
Supplying to a wide range of industry sectors such as Mining, Construction, Heavy Industry and Oil & Gas our client has remained an industry leader through continual investment in infrastructure, personnel and product development.
Due to large project, our client requires additional personnel in their fabrication department to assist coded pipe welders. The work will be approximately 3 months, working up to mid December 2025.
Project Working Days & Hours
Our client has a large order where they are working outside of their normal working hours and are working 10 + hours during week days as well as 3 Saturdays per month in order to get the job completed which is estimated to be 12 weeks or until mid December 2025.
Commencing: ASAP Start
Location: Canning Vale
Duration: 12 weeks (Mid December 2025) Possible Extension – Possible Temp to Perm
Working Days: Monday to Friday & X3 Saturday Mornings Per Month
Working Hours – Mon to Fri: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM (May Vary)
Saturday Work: 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM (All X1.5 & X2 OT Rates)
The Role
The available role requires a very versatile candidate as the main responsibilities require the successful candidate to have trade skills across;
Pipe Fitting
Fabrication & Welding (Mainly Interpreting Shop Drawings of Pipe Spools)
The main part of the role will be in preparing pipe for coded welders where you will be working off and interpreting Shop Drawings in order to get precise measurements of length of pipe as well as cutting angle, especially taking into consideration flanges, where it takes an experienced tradesman to get measurements and angles correct.
Once you have cut the pipe and put it through the bevelling machine you will then be required to tack weld the pipe into a spool. After this process is completed, the in-house coded welders will take over in welding the pipe.
The main tasks of the role include;
Interpreting Shop Drawings of Pipe Spools and Pipe Manifolds
Measuring & Marking Up Pipe from Shop Drawings – Ensuring correct ength & angle is 100% to shop drawing
Cutting Pipe using a Ban Saw or Drop Saw – Ensuring flange angles are precise and to the shop drawing
Operation a Bevelling Machine for Pipe Welding Preparation
Tack Welding Pipe into correct position from Shop Drawings or Diagrams – Mainly using MIG (GMAW)
Pipe Type – Carbon Steel & Stainless – 5 cm to 1 meter in Diameter
The welding part of the work is minimal as you will only be tack welding however you must be able to weld the following;
MIG-GMAW Welding (Flux Cored Solid Wire)
TIG-GTAW
Tack Welding – Horizontal & Vertical Positions
The Candidate – Qualifications
We are seeking a trade qualified candidate that has the following or similar qualification in the following;
Pipe Fitter
Boiler Maker Welder
Heavy Fabricator & Welder
The Candidate – Personality Traits
We are also seeking a proactive candidate that possess initiative a positive attitude as well as excellent time keeping and attendance due to the time constraints of the project.
Having excellent English communications skills is essential as you will be regularly liaising with the Fabrication Team Members, Fabrication Supervisor, Production Manager and Engineers in all facets of your work across estimating completing times, requiting materials or providing daily updates on your job progress.
We are also seeking candidates that possess the following;
Is able to work 10+ Hour Days
Is able to work 3 Saturdays per month
Has excellent written & verbal communication skills
Remuneration
The pay rates below are casual pay rates where depending on your qualifications and skills the pay rate will be between;
$50.00 to $60.00 Per Hour
+ Over Time (X1.5 after 7.6 hours / X2 after 10.6 hours)
+ Super (On Ordinary Hours)
Paid Weekly
