Family Support Worker

Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated and highly skilled individual to support Indigenous clients and their children in the early years so children’s developmental and educational needs may be met. You will be required to assist clients to access available and relevant resources necessary for the client to attain their identified goals as well as build strong relationships and partnerships across the regional network of educational and health services. You will engage in key phases of the case management process. Additionally, this role will require you to liaise and form linkages with Indigenous communities and organisations servicing those communities.

Candidates Need:

Cert IV in early Childhood Education and or Community Services; or

Demonstrated case management and early childhood experience;

Previous experience with evidence-based parenting programs desirable;

Ability to work effectively within a large team;

Basic knowledge of data reporting/entry; and

Good written and oral communication skills.

Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Working with Children Blue Card or ability to successfully obtain a Blue Card.

Possession of a current clean Open Queensland Driver’s License.

Current National Police Check.
