Senior User Interface (UI) Developer

💲 $114.19/hour + super

Our state government client is seeking a Senior UI Developer to support the delivery of digitally enabled, whole-of-government services to the Queensland public. This role will contribute to creating accessible, customer-centric web solutions that make government services simpler, more connected, and more user-friendly.

Key Responsibilities

• Investigate, analyse, and develop digital UI solutions using industry-standard technologies.
• Implement reusable components and templates in line with the Queensland Government Design System (QGDS).
• Support Queensland Online’s web environments, ensuring stability, responsiveness, and usability.
• Develop and maintain Squiz Matrix websites.
• Contribute to UI analysis and design activities including concept design, testing strategies, and user studies.
• Provide expert technical advice to stakeholders to align UI deliverables with business requirements.
• Foster collaboration and open communication within Agile teams.

We are seeking candidates with:

• Proven experience with Squiz Matrix, Web Components, Design Tokens, and Figma.
• A strong track record in developing accessible, customer-focused web solutions.
• Experience working across the full project lifecycle – planning, design, development, testing, deployment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business requirements into effective UI solutions.

Technical Proficiency

• Languages: HTML5, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSON
• Frameworks: Angular, React, Vue.js, Next.js
• CSS Frameworks: Bootstrap 5+ (or similar)
• Version Control: Git
• Build Tools: NPM, Gulp, Webpack, Vite, ESBuild, SASS/Less, PostCSS
• Testing: ViteTest, Jest, Selenium, Cypress
• Integration: REST APIs
• Tools: Storybook, Chromatic
• Design & Prototyping: Figma
