About the role

Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is seeking an experienced Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team in Albury, NSW. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored learning experiences for students on the autism spectrum. This contract role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within our supportive and collaborative environment.

What you'll be doing

Develop and implement individualised education plans to address the unique learning needs of students on the autism spectrum

Utilise evidence-based teaching methodologies and assistive technologies to foster academic, social, and behavioural growth in students

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including parents and carers, to ensure a holistic approach to student development

Contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practices and the creation of inclusive learning environments

Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in special education

What we're looking for

Recognised teaching qualification and registration with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)

Significant experience teaching students with autism spectrum disorder or other special educational needs

Strong understanding of evidence-based teaching strategies and the ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues

Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for making a difference in the lives of students on the autism spectrum

Current driver's licence is required, depending on the school's location and requirements

International police clearance may be required for this position
