About the Role

As an Accountant at Aero Group, you’ll be responsible for the delivery of timely, accurate, and compliant accounting services for our clients. As an integral part of our operations team, you will contribute to the growth and success of the firm while building lasting client relationships. You’ll work closely with other team members to support our clients, uphold high service standards, and contribute to a positive and productive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of clients, including small businesses, corporations, and individuals, delivering tailored accounting and advisory services.

Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on accounting and business matters.

Prepare and complete end-to-end payroll, BAS, PAYG, and superannuation obligations.

Producing a set of accounts for a company, trust, partnership, self-managed super funds including balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow statements.

Preparation and lodgement of company and individual taxation returns.

Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting

Analyze financial data and provide insights to clients by identifying opportunities to improve processes and implement best practices for their business.

Assist in business development efforts, including client acquisition.

Stay updated on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and industry trends to provide informed advice to clients and the team.

Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective accounting practices

About You

You’re a motivated and capable intermediate accountant who enjoys supporting others and leading by example. You bring strong technical accounting knowledge, but also value soft skills—communication, empathy, and organisation.

We’d love to see the following:

A minimum of 2 years of public practice experience in Australia in a tax-related role

Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, tax legislation, and compliance requirements

CPA or CA qualification preferred (completed or in progress)

Exceptional attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage deadlines

Proactive and solutions-focused approach to challenges

Proven capability in developing, and mentoring high-performing teams

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport across teams and with clients

Proficient in accounting systems and cloud-based tools
