Are you a people-focused organiser who thrives on making teams work at their best?

Murrakei Farms is a cropping, livestock and berry farm nestled in the beautiful Red Hills amongst green pastures and paddocks just 10 minutes from Deloraine in the north-west of Tasmania, due to growth they are seeking a HR & Workforce Coordinator to ensure they have the right people in the right place, every day. This is a practical role combining workforce planning, rostering, HR compliance, and hands-on coordination across harvest and off-season operations.

You’ll work closely with Supervisors, Office Staff, and the Farm Manager to support hiring, onboarding, team culture, communication, and day-to-day problem-solving. Your work will directly impact how smoothly the teams operate and how successful harvest and off-season activities are.

Key Responsibilities:

Workforce Planning & Rostering

  • Develop and manage rosters during harvest
  • Allocate staff to crops based on performance and efficiency
  • Liaise with PALM Facilitator and Supervisors to plan daily workforce needs
  • Adjust rosters proactively to meet crop and weather conditions
  • Coordinate maintenance crew rosters during the off-season

Performance & Culture

  • Monitor worker performance and support Supervisors in addressing productivity gaps
  • Support daily check-ins on WHS, productivity, and people concerns
  • Address underperformance or absenteeism and assist with performance improvement plans (PIPs)
  • Implement and maintain staff reward and recognition programs
  • Conduct yearly role and responsibility reviews
  • Resolve workplace conflicts and act as a point of contact for staff concerns

Recruitment & HR Compliance

  • Prepare job ads, manage applications, and conduct interviews
  • Set up onboarding processes and ensure contracts are accurate and compliant
  • Keep detailed records for each worker (contracts, timesheets, visa status, etc.)
  • Review and update HR policies
  • Ensure processes are documented and followed by team leads and Supervisors

Admin, Compliance & Communication

  • Maintain accurate time and attendance records
  • Report on job loads and overtime requirements
  • Coordinate onboarding of new staff
  • Assist with investigations as required
  • Communicate clearly across all levels to ensure staff understand expectations

What you’ll need:

  • Outstanding people skills – confident, fair, and approachable
  • 5+ years’ experience in HR, operations, or workforce coordination
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Experience rostering or coordinating a seasonal workforce
  • Solid understanding of Human Resources
  • Comfortable using basic systems (timesheets, spreadsheets, etc.)
