Goodwin Village is a community owned not-for-profit retirement village located in the rural Victorian town of Donald. The organization operates a 38 bed residential aged care facility and 25 independent retirement living units, as well as providing various levels of community care to clients in the local area. The organisation has 60 staff including RNs, EENs, PCWs, Food & Domestic, Administration, and Maintenance.

Donald has a population of 1,600 people and the town is well serviced by local businesses, including IGA supermarket, bakery, butcher, hardware, cafes, hotels, schools, sporting clubs, recreation facilities (including gymnasium). Donald has doctors and a hospital. It is also well connected to regional centres by public transport.

Qualifications & experience

Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration.

Aged care experience is an advantage but not necessary.

Tasks & responsibilities

Registered Nurse will mainly be required to take a leadership role on 'floor' shifts 'day' 'evening' and 'night' as rostered in a community owned 38 bed rural residential aged care facility. The RN will perform clinical and care tasks and assist in managing the care team on their shifts. Shifts in a secondary Nursing role are also occasionally required depending on other Nursing staff leave.

This is an opportunity for inexperienced Nurses to work in a supportive and engaged aged care team, and build knowledge, or for more senior Nurses to lead and strengthen procedures, while utilizing their experience to improve resident care goals, and compliance with them.
