Kalbar State School Outside School Hours Care (KOSHC) has an exciting opportunity for the role of Coordinator

KOSHC is a P&C run service that caters to the Kalbar school community for before and after school care during the school term. Vacation care is offered to include the surrounding schools over the school holidays.

What is on offer:

· Full-time position

· Hours of operation are Monday to Friday:

Before School Care - 6:00am to 8:45am

After School Care – 3:00pm to 6:00pm

Vacation Care (School Holidays) - 6:00am to 6:00pm

· The roster is over five days, with a split shift during term.

· Working alongside a very experienced Lead Educator, and other qualified educators.

· A close knit and supportive school community.

· Annual salary 78k + worker retention grant 5.36p/h + Super

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic OHSC Coordinator to manage and lead the day-to-day administration and operations of the KOSHC facility

What we need from you:

A happy, positive and engaging personality.

Collaborate effectively with the P&C executive committee, while also demonstrating the ability to work independently in the role of Coordinator

Inspire and encourage growth of other educators.

Provide direction and leadership to educators in supporting children’s growth and development across the five learning outcomes and seven quality areas.

Ensure smooth and safe operation as nominated supervisor of the service

Inform and facilitate the service’s processes for collecting, analysing, interpreting and applying observation and assessment information as a part of our ongoing Quality Improvement process.

Develop positive and respectful relationships with children, educators, and families.

Demonstrate high-level knowledge of standards laws and regulations including (but not limited to) the National Quality Framework and its national law system as relative to the effective operation of an OSHC service ensuring all service practice is consistent with these requirements maintaining a strong focus on compliance matters.

Demonstrate high-level knowledge of work health and safety and environmental safety requirements ensuring consistent practice and compliance.

Be open to giving and receiving positive and constructive feedback.

Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with the entire team.

Experience with Xero and budgeting.

· Oversee daily operations, staffing, and compliance with all regulations

· Manage enrolments, rosters, and Xplor administration

Your qualifications:

Have completed a Diploma or higher-level qualification in outside school hours care, children's services, or equivalent. 50% through an education bachelor or relevant study.

Have working knowledge of current childcare legislation, including the MTOP framework and the National Quality Laws and Regulations or the ability to learn quickly.

Experience working with children, preferably primary school aged children.

Hold First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis management certifications or willing to obtain

Hold a valid working with children Blue Card.

Ability to lead, manage and develop staff in a team-based environment.

Good communication skills and the ability to positively, proactively and regularly engage with staff, families and children.

Ability to demonstrate a student-centred approach to leisure-based education.

Ability to work autonomously on a variety of tasks.

Working knowledge of the Xplor will be highly regarded but is not essential.

Police check will be necessary upon successful application
