About the Role
Foodbank SA & NT is seeking an enthusiastic candidate for the casual role of Food Hub and Warehouse Support, assisting the Regional Manager and Mobile Food Hub Coordinator with the daily operations of the Mobile Food Hub and Warehouse, including customer service and inventory management.
Foodbank Food Hubs are set up to resemble a general store and offer clients a dignified shopping experience. The Mobile Food Hub is a customised truck that travels to areas identified as being areas of great need with limited service or access to food relief. The Warehouse supports the operations of the Food Hub and services agencies, schools and partners in Whyalla and the surrounding regions.
As Food Hub and Warehouse Support you will:
Receive, check, sort and store produce
Pack and pack orders in preparation for dispatch
Support stock control and ordering
Provide high level customer service with sensitivity to social and cultural needs
Assist with the supervision and coordination of volunteers.

Foodbank SA & NT has 13 Food Hubs and provides food relief to over 150,000 people every month. One third of these are children. In the last 12 months, we have sourced enough food to put more than 10 million meals on the table of those doing it tough in our community.
About You
As the successful applicant, you will have strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with excellent time management, and you will enjoy working closely within a diverse and friendly team.
A commitment to community service and the not for profit sector is essential and previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage.
A National Police Clearance is required – we will support you to obtain if you do not already hold them.
A driver’s licence is essential. A forklift licence and heavy vehicle licence are preferred but not essential.
