As part of our offering, we proudly operate a ferry service between Palm Beach and Patonga, providing locals and visitors with a safe, reliable, and memorable journey on the water.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and responsible Ferry Captain to oversee the day-to-day operations of our ferry service. The role is available on a Full-time or Casual basis and will be based around Palm Beach, with the ferry moored at Careel Bay.

As Ferry Captain, you will be accountable for the safe navigation and operation of the vessel, the guest experience on board, and the leadership of crew members. You will:

Safely operate the ferry between Palm Beach and Patonga, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations.

Lead and oversee crew to deliver outstanding service and guest experiences.

Manage passenger safety at all times, including safety briefings and emergency procedures.

Ensure the vessel is maintained to a high operational and presentation standard.

Oversee scheduling, fuel management, and logbook reporting requirements.

Act as a Boathouse Group ambassador, embodying our values on and off the water.

About You

A qualified and experienced skipper with relevant commercial maritime certifications

Strong knowledge of maritime safety regulations and vessel maintenance requirements.

Leadership experience with the ability to manage, train, and motivate crew.

Excellent communication skills and a professional, guest-focused manner.

Reliable, safety-conscious, and proactive in problem-solving.

Flexibility to work across weekdays, weekends, and public holidays.
