Leapkids | Fitzroy, VIC
Permanent Part-Time | Approx. 30 hours/week
Work-life balance | Paid Non-Contact Time | Real Career Growth
Ready to step up and learn leadership skills? Here’s your chance!
At Leapkids, we’re proudly family-owned and run — no corporate jargon, no cookie-cutter programs. Just passionate educators, a hands-on leadership team, and a shared commitment to making Outside School Hours Care truly child-centred, inclusive, and meaningful.
We’re now looking for an Assistant Coordinator to support the leadership of our Fitzroy service — someone who wants to feel connected, supported, and inspired by the work they do and the people they do it with.
Why you’ll love working with us:
✅ Genuine people-first culture – where your voice matters
✅ Experienced, supportive leadership – who’ve been in your shoes
✅ Paid non-contact time – for planning, reflection, and growth
✅ Opportunities to step up and lead – with real mentoring
✅ Discounted OSHC for staff with children (plus other great benefits)
✅ Programs built around children’s interests – not corporate templates
✅ Inclusive, community-based environment – warm, not transactional
What you’ll do:
Support the Coordinator to plan and deliver fun, safe, and inclusive Before & After School programs for children (5–12 years)
Build strong relationships with children, families, and the school community
Assist in designing engaging, hands-on activities (from STEM to sport to arts and more)
Contribute to compliance requirements and administrative tasks as required
Step into higher duties when the Coordinator is absent
About you:
You’re someone who leads with kindness, brings calm to the chaos, and sees the value in small moments. You’re creative, resourceful, and enjoy engaging children in meaningful, play-based activities.
What we’re looking for:
Previous experience in Outside School Hours Care (leadership potential is a bonus)
Qualification in School Age Care, Early Childhood, or ACECQA-approved qualification (or currently studying)
WWCC and First Aid/Anaphylaxis/Asthma/Child Protection training (or willingness to obtain)
A warm, reliable professional who values relationships, equity, and responsive care
Who we are:
Leapkids is a boutique OSHC provider built on trust, transparency, and relationships. Our leadership team is made up of former educators and service leaders — we know what genuine care looks like, and we support our teams to deliver it. We're values-driven, and committed to giving children and educators, a place to belong, and thrive.
