Job Description

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assess statutory building applications and routine planning proposals
  • Provide pre-lodgement advice and respond to customer enquiries
  • Conduct inspections and technical assessments
  • Prepare reports, recommendations, and advice for internal and external stakeholders
  • Represent the City in public meetings, appeals, and enquiries
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for a qualified and experienced Building Surveyor who is passionate about safe and sustainable development. You’ll ideally bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Building or a related discipline
  • Registration as a Building Surveyor Practitioner in WA (Level 1 or 2)
  • Strong knowledge of statutory building control in a local government context
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Sound judgement and decision-making abilities
  • Experience in building surveying and statutory assessment
  • Local government experience (desirable)
