About the role
We are seeking a compassionate and culturally responsive psychologist to join our team full-time. The successful candidate will deliver therapeutic mental health services under the Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN) Psychological Support Services (PSS) Program.
The role has three key components:
1. Delivering counselling and care coordination services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients at La Perouse Aboriginal Community Health Centre, while engaging in community networking and service promotion.
2. Conducting risk assessments and safety planning for people referred under the suicide prevention stream, as part of a triage team.
3. Providing therapeutic counselling services to clients from diverse backgrounds, including multicultural communities, LGBTIQA+, children, young people and adults, at the Rockdale office and other locations in the CESPHN region.

Key responsibilities
· Conduct psychosocial assessments and collaboratively develop tailored treatment plans.
· Perform telehealth risk intake assessments and safety planning for clients with mild to moderate suicidal ideation.
· Coordinate care with collocated services at La Perouse and assist clients in navigating health and social systems, (e.g., My Health Record, My Medicare, My Aged Care, Centrelink, legal, housing, social and community, and mental health services.
· Provide psychological therapy and case management to clients under PSS, NDIS, private, SIRA, NSW Victims Services and Open Arms.
· Enter service delivery data and client-reported outcome and experience measures.
· Maintain accurate and confidential client records in accordance with ethical and legal standards.
· Contribute to service improvement and evaluation through activity data and case studies aligned with CESPHN’s Activity Workplan.
· Engage in ongoing clinical and cultural supervision and professional development to stay informed about best practices in mental health and cultural competency.
· Participate in ongoing clinical and cultural supervision and professional development.

· Promote health, safety and wellbeing in accordance with the Work Health Safety Act 2011.
· Uphold AHPRA’s code of conduct and maintain professional standards.
· Attend team meetings and organisational events.
· Perform other duties as directed.
Qualifications & Essential Criteria
Registered psychologist with AHPRA.
Demonstrated understanding of cultural, social, and historical factors impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health with experience working with these communities.
Experience providing mental health support to people from multicultural backgrounds, including working with interpreters.
Knowledge of the CESPHN service system.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Fluent in Arabic, Turkish, Farsi, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, or Bengali.
· Training and experience in trauma informed therapy.
· Eligibility for registration with NSW Victims Services, SIRA, Open Arms, and Medicare.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
· Proficiency in electronic client management systems (rediCASE & Halaxy) and the Microsoft 365 Office suite.
· Current National Police Check (Vulnerable Persons) completed within the last 2 years and Working with Children Check.
· Current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to travel for networking and outreach.
Desirable Criteria:
· Experience in delivering PHN-funded services and using rediCASE.
