McLaren Vale Distillery is located on the northern end of McLaren Vale and boasts vineyard views from every turn. We are seeking regular casual weekend staff to join our team and help us continue to deliver high end experiences and products to our visitors. We will be offering whisky and fortified wine tastings, along with a small, curated wine and cocktail list for visitors who would just like to enjoy a drink onsite.

Overview of role and expectations

This is a casual position and requires regular weekend and occasionally evening event work.

Engage and host whisky and fortified wine tastings according to customer interest and level of knowledge

Must be able to work calmly under pressure, while also working with a sense of urgency in busy periods

Increase member sign-ups and accurately record customer information

Ensure shelves and fridges are cleaned and stocked

Accurately record number of visitors

Dispose of out-of-date items

Record stock movements

Restock glasswasher, soap dispensers, chemicals, hand towels

Qualifications and Experience

A good understanding of wine and spirits (preferable WSET training or equivalent) including prior hospitality experience in a similar role

Positive, engaging and friendly personality, passionate about people, and wanting to gain experience in the wine/spirits industry will also be considered.
