Search Light Early Learning Centre is a small, community-based, not-for-profit service located in Sunnybank. We specialise in delivering high-quality early education and wraparound support to young families who benefit from a more flexible, affordable, and compassionate approach.

Licensed for just 19 places, our centre offers a rare chance to build deep connections with children, families, and colleagues. We pride ourselves on creating a safe, inclusive space where children feel secure and supported—and where educators are genuinely valued, nurtured, and empowered.

Co-located at an independent all-girls school in Brisbane, we support both students who are young parents and other families in the community who need a little extra care. We’re managed by a volunteer committee and funded by the Australian Government.

About the role:

Casual position, 4 days per week during school terms

Perfect for educators who prefer school holidays off

Work closely with a small, passionate team

Help deliver targeted programs that make a real difference

Remuneration and entitlements as per the Children’s Services Award, dependent on qualifications and experience (up to level 3.3)

About you:

You’re a qualified Early Childhood Educator (Cert III or Diploma)

You bring warmth, initiative, and compassion to your practice

You thrive in small teams and value deep relationships with families

You’re flexible, reliable, and committed to inclusive, high-quality care

Experience supporting young parents or vulnerable families is a bonus

Current Working with Children's Check

Current First Aid Certificate, Asthma & Anaphylaxis certificates
