The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications, and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

This is a 12 month fixed term, full time role based preferably in our Melbourne office working a hybrid arrangement.
Our Senior Management Accountant seek to provide strong value to all stakeholders supported by high-quality management information. The focus of the role is to support the team in preparing and analysing financial information, promote the standardisation of activities, and drive efficiencies in all areas of responsibility. A strong focus on continuous improvement is vital. You will collaborate with the finance team and the broader business to obtain a deep understanding of financial drivers combined with complex analyses, to provide insight and inform decision making.
In this role you will:
- Provide management accounting support to financial reporting and analysis team and the broader organisation.
- Ensuring quality data and information is created and utilised.
- Undertaking some month-end accounting and reporting processes, including the development of complex journals, review/analysis of financial results and other month-end activities.
- Develop accurate budgets and ongoing financial forecasts (and associated data).
- Prepare and deliver reports to stakeholders within the organisation.
- Actively participating and driving continuous improvement efforts.
About You
You will be an experienced accountant who has worked in end-to-end financial activities. An exceptional communicator, one who can converse with a range of stakeholders and explain and influence complicated financial information in a way that helps facilitate informed decision making.

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following:
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in a similar role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting and CPA/CA qualification
- Experience in management accounting activities, including month-end processes and providing analysis of financial outcomes.
- Experience in report preparation, and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- High level of written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Active participation in process improvement activities, including automation
- Experience using Anaplan or similar programs (desirable)
