About the Role:

DCC Industry Group has opened a brand-new part-time role to align with our growth and as such are seeking three reliable and experienced On-Call Officers to provide after-hours telephone support to frontline staff in our Non-Family Based Care programs. Operating outside standard business hours, this role responds to urgent situations such as medical emergencies, safety concerns, crisis incidents, emergency repairs, and staffing issues. You'll be calm under pressure, solution-focused, and have experience in crisis response or community services. You'll offer clear, timely advice to ensure the safety of children, young people, staff, and property, while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and legislation. Key responsibilities include guiding staff through complex or high-risk scenarios, accurate call documentation, and escalating critical matters when required.

Provide after-hours phone support and operational guidance on a rotating roster

Manage urgent shift fills and update rosters in Employment Hero as required

Respond to crisis situations, offering calm and informed advice regarding safety, risk, and wellbeing

Support staff in following reporting and escalation protocols, including contact with external agencies (e.g. CSAHS)

Record all calls and decisions accurately and escalate significant issues when necessary

Advise on emergency property repairs and emergency staffing to ensure service continuity

Ensure all actions align with organisational policies, procedures, and legislative requirements

Promote stability and confidentiality while maintaining the safety and dignity of all involved

Shifts and salary will as below, and will be reviewed after 12 weeks to ascertain if adjustments need to be made:

On-call Officer 1: Monday to Thursday 5pm to 10pm, on-call from 10pm to 8am

On-call Officer 2: Saturday and Sunday day shift 8am - 5pm

On-call Officer 3: Friday to Sunday 5pm to 10pm, on-call from 10pm to 8am.

You will be paid an all-encompassing salary, so if you are recalled to duty, this is included in your remuneration

What's on Offer:

Officer 1 Salary: $55,000 per annum plus super

Officer 2 Salary: $59,000 per annum plus super

Officer 3 Salary: $53,000 per annum plus super

Requirements/Qualifications:

Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related field

Demonstrated experience in Non-Family Based Care, crisis intervention, or similar high-pressure environments.

Strong understanding of duty of care, mandatory reporting, and risk management.

Proven ability to respond calmly and effectively to emergencies and complex situations.

High-level communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide direction and support over the phone.

Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures in high-stress situations.

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in documenting all actions and communications.

Availability and reliability for after-hours/on-call work with prior experience in on-call duties.

Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and NDIS Working Screening (Yellow Card)

Current LCS Check

National Police Check
