As we continue to grow and evolve, we’re on the lookout for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Manager with a flair for Functions and Events to join our dynamic team.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Venue Manager, this is a hands-on leadership position combining venue operations with event coordination and marketing. You’ll be a confident leader with at least 2 years of management experience in hospitality, and a strong understanding of both Front and Back of House operations. Most importantly, you’ll bring energy, creativity, and a customer-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Functions & Events
Manage the end-to-end coordination of events — from initial enquiry to post-event follow-up
Work closely with the Head Chef and Venue Manager to design menus and tailor event packages
Maintain regular client communication to ensure expectations are exceeded
Oversee FOH staff during functions to ensure smooth execution
Keep accurate records of client requirements, bookings, and feedback
Assistant Manager Duties
Act as Manager on Duty, overseeing daily operations
Drive a high standard of customer service and satisfaction
Support and mentor team members to foster a positive work culture
Ensure compliance with hotel policies and operational procedures
Marketing & Promotion
Proactively promote functions and events to increase bookings
Create and manage social media and email marketing campaigns
Develop engaging in-house promotional materials
Collaborate on seasonal events and marketing activations
Who We’re Looking For
Proven experience in function and event coordination, ideally in pubs or hotels
At least 2 years of hospitality management experience
Confident communicator (written & verbal)
Proactive, energetic, and customer-focused leader
Comfortable learning booking systems and marketing software
Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
Current RSA
Strong team leadership and staff development skills
Passionate about delivering unforgettable customer experiences
