About the role:
At Anglicare Central Queensland, we believe children thrive in safe, familiar environments. As a not-for-profit organisation, we support Kinship carers - family and community members who step in to care for children when they need it most.
We're seeking a compassionate Kinship Placement Support Worker to work alongside carers and support services to ensure children remain connected to their culture, identity and community - making a lasting impact through stable, nurturing placements.
What will a typical day look like?
- Support Kinship Carers to build strong, nurturing environments
- Partner with families and community services
- Identify training needs and boost carer confidence.
- Lead carer inductions and develop tailored support plans
- Contribute to care planning and placement stability.
- Help organise meaningful events for children and carers
- Be part of an on-call roster for timely support.
- Keep placement records up-to-date and manager carer renewals.
Mandatory Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in social or behavioural sciences, social work, or psychology.

- The ability to identify and embed solutions.
- Demonstrated experience working within a high-performance framework where you are accountable for KPIs on program delivery and outcomes, within a face-paced solutions focussed environment.
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
- A strong communicator, able to quickly build rapport and influence across a diverse range of people.
Other Requirements
- Full COVID-19 Vaccination
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
- Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
