About our client:
Our client is an accounting firm based in the heart of Perth's CBD. They specialise in business services, tax, SMSF, and advisory services to SME business, with plans to branch into the Listed clients space in the next few months. The team consists of 2 Partners, 1 Consultant, 1 Manager, 10 accountants, 5 bookkeepers and 5 business support staff. With plans to grow to 100 staff in the next 12-18 months, there will be plenty of room for career progression.

About the position:
This is an exciting permanent opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper to work in an established bookkeeping team of 5 staff, using Xero software. The successful bookkeeper will be responsible for a broad range of transactional and reconciliation tasks, ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data across the business. This role supports the preparation of accounts and financial reports, and contributes to payroll, BAS, and compliance processes. It is suited to a detail-oriented accounting professional with a strong foundation in bookkeeping and reconciliation and the ambition to grow into more complex reporting and leadership responsibilities.

Key responsibilities:
Core Accounting Functions

• Perform bank reconciliations, debtor reconciliations, and supplier statement reconciliations
• Process invoice entry, sales journals, and supplier batch payments
• Manage clearing accounts, prepayments, and inter-entity loan account reconciliations
• Maintain and prepare payroll and process leave entitlements (excluding long service leave)
• Conduct income and expense accrual management
• Prepare and lodge IAS, BAS, Payroll Tax returns
• Superannuation compliance obligations
• Reconcile GST, wages, and payroll tax
• Support STP (Single Touch Payroll) reconciliation

Financial Reporting & Reconciliation

• Assist with profit and loss and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support stock and inventory, long service leave, and fixed asset reconciliations
• Contribute to FBT reconciliation and management report preparation:
• Stock and inventory reconciliation (advanced)
• Fixed asset reconciliation
• Management reporting
• Consolidated group reporting

Salary package:

• $70,000 - $100,000 package + Super (depending on experience)

Requirements:

• Must have full working rights in Australia (Permanent Resident or Citizen)
• Reside in Perth, Western Australia
• Must have 2+ years bookkeeping experience in an Australian accounting firm
• Ideally have a certificate in Bookkeeping or an accounting related qualification
• Have experience of using Xero software
• Strong verbal and written English skills
