Join a dynamic local government team committed to maintaining a safe and efficient fleet. As a Council Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a diverse range of vehicles and plant equipment, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with safety.

Your new role

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on light and heavy vehicles, plant, and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Maintain accurate service records and comply with council policies and procedures.
• Operate within WHS guidelines and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Support fleet upgrades and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll need to succeed

• Trade qualification in Automotive Mechanical Technology (Light or Heavy Vehicle).
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within local government or fleet services.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Current NSW Driver's Licence and HR Licence.
• Own tools
