About You
We know great clinicians come from a variety of backgrounds, so we’re open to applications from:
Registered nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, trauma therapists, mental health professionals, allied health workers, and youth workers
Graduates who can demonstrate the right mix of skills, values, and readiness to learn
Professionals with transferable skills from counselling, psychology, or related roles, even if you haven’t been an AOD clinician before
To succeed in this role, you’ll need qualifications in the health, social or behavioural science field and/or extensive AOD training with a minimum Diploma in Alcohol & Drugs (you can also be in the process of obtaining this)
Additionally, you will have:
Experience working with individuals and families affected by alcohol or other drug issues
Experience working with clients with dual diagnosis or complex needs
Understanding of harm minimisation principles and evidence-based interventions
Strong knowledge of community resources, treatment services, and referral networks

About the Opportunity
Bridges Health & Community Care is looking for multiple Alcohol & Drug (AOD) Clinicians to be based in Hervey Bay, Fraser Coast Region, with outreach to Bundaberg and the North/South Burnett regions. Reporting to the Regional Manager – AOD, you will deliver evidence-based psychosocial and psychological treatments to help individuals and their families reduce the harms of substance use, improve health, and strengthen social functioning.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conducting comprehensive client assessments and intakes using standardised tools
Developing and delivering tailored treatment plans based on individual needs and readiness for change
Providing evidence-based psychological and psychosocial interventions, including motivational interviewing, CBT, and brief interventions
Facilitating family and group therapy sessions to support recovery and strengthen relationships
Collaborating with community, public-sector, and health service providers to coordinate client care
Maintaining accurate clinical records and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and funding requirements
