We are searching for our next Senior Wayfinding Designer to join our Sydney or Melbourne team!

As part of Best, you'll join a dedicated team of design and project professionals working across both Sydney and Melbourne studios creating exceptional signage, wayfinding, environmental design, placemaking and activations for our clients across Australia. As part of the Mijasu family, Best works in collaboration with sister-companies Cley Studio (interiors) and Architex (architecture) to cover all aspects of the built environment experience for our clients.

THE ROLE
We are looking for an Senior Wayfinding Designer to be part of our team and take the lead on select signage, wayfinding and placemaking projects. Working with the Projects Director, Design Director and design team, you will lead select projects from start to finish. Ensuring that both the design outcome and client communication is clear and industry-leading.

You will be comfortable in both concepting ideas and designs from briefs, presenting these to clients, working and drawing from the team's input while acting as the main communication point to the clients for the projects you are leading/managing, including keeping an eye on project parameters such as time and budget. You will be comfortable working across the strategy, concept, DD and documentation stages of a variety of projects primarily within the signage, wayfinding and environmental graphics sectors, but also extending to placemaking and wider environments design.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

5+ years experience in signage and wayfinding design.

Demonstrated conceptual ability to generate conceptual ideas from design briefs and present them to clients

Passion for presenting and owning your ideas. This is a role where you can get up front to clients and present your ideas and own the project process.

Demonstrated ability to act as the primary client communication point and guide the client through the design and delivery process

Ability to produce accurate signage and wayfinding documentation using Adobe Illustrator

Ideal studio experience and ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment

Mentor junior design staff
