  • Join a team of youth and housing workers and support young people at risk
  • Two part-time maximum-term contracts (0.9 FTE and 0.8 FTE) ending in 2026
  • $86,950.50 pro rata plus super and salary packaging plus other benefits

YES! Housing (Youth Externally Supported Housing) supports young people aged 15 – 25 years, many of whom are Aboriginal, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, to access and maintain stable, longer term housing. The program, using a strength-based case management approach, also supports young people to develop independent living skills and skills needed to maintain a tenancy. As a Youth Worker in YES! Housing you will:

  • Assess young people applying to access the YES! Housing program
  • Liaise with community agencies, Department of Housing, Community Housing providers and real estate agents to support young people into accommodation
  • Empower young people to live independently by providing a high-quality case management service
  • Work collaboratively with key stakeholders identified in a young person’s case management plan

There are two maximum-term contract opportunities available:

A 0.8 FTE (30 hours per week) contract for 5 months, concluding in March 2026.

A 0.9 FTE (33.75 hours per week) contract for 12 months, concluding in October 2026.

You are passionate about delivering quality case management and support incorporating approaches that are person centred, strengths based and trauma informed. Aboriginal applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

To thrive in this role you will ideally have:

  • Sufficient demonstrated experience working with young "at risk' people
  • Demonstrated experience delivering strengths-based case management
  • Have highly developed communication skills and solid experience in working with Aboriginal people and community groups
  • Have a demonstrated ability to engage and build strong relationships with and motivate ‘at risk’ young people
  • Have an understanding of youth housing services and accommodation systems
  • Be comfortable using IT devices and computer based data management systems

A diploma or tertiary level qualification in Youth Work, Social Work or a related discipline is highly desired, but not essential for this role. The successful candidate must also possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year, a valid Working With Children Check, a valid Provide First Aid Certificate and a WA Drivers Licence.

Impact and Benefits

Sharing your knowledge, skills and experience, you will make an impact to the lives of young people and our communities across the state.

In return for your drive and commitment, we provide the support of an inclusive and welcoming community which places people at the heart of all the work we do and encourages broad thinking, curiosity, creativity and best practice.

Also:

  • $86,950 full time salary range per annum pro rata + 12% superannuation
  • In addition to your remuneration, you will enjoy generous tax-free salary packaging benefits where you can package up to $15,900 per annum and not pay tax on that amount.
  • Flexible, family/life friendly working conditions
