About the Role

As Group Financial Controller, you will steer the Sydney-based finance team and collaborate globally to ensure reporting integrity, robust controls, and successful strategic initiatives. This role partners closely with the CFO and Board, delivering on statutory reporting, financial insight, risk management, and transformation projects across the Waterco Group inclusive of Davey Water and Waterco Far East.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead, mentor, and develop a collaborative, high-performing finance team.

· Oversee global month-end close processes, consolidations (IFRS/ASX), and group reporting.

· Maintain and improve internal control frameworks and compliance programs.

· Drive working capital efficiency, cashflow forecasting, and process improvement.

· Prepare half-year and annual consolidated financial statements, managing statutory and regulatory compliance across all entities.

· Manage external audits, tax, and treasury activities.

· Provide commercial insights and business partnering with senior leaders.

· Support M&A, digital transformation, and ESG reporting initiatives.

· Act as a key contact for auditors, banks, and regulatory stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

· CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent).

· Significant post-qualification experience in a multinational corporate or large audit environment.

· Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS essential).

· Demonstrated experience in managing statutory audits, internal controls, and compliance.

· Proven leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams.

· Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across geographies.

· Exposure to treasury, tax, and global operations preferred.

· Experience with ERP systems and financial transformation projects highly regarded.

· Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks and sustainability disclosures advantageous.
