A permanent employment opportunity has arisen for a competent and hardworking workshop assembly worker with LF Licensed forklifting skills, based at Brendale, QLD 4500. This role would be suited to a team player with a good mechanical aptitude and a willingness to do a variety of roles as required by our customer demands.
Your main duty will include modification of covers, grates, and other access products as per work instructions, all while adhering to EJ's stringent quality standards to meet customer requirements in a timely manner.
The successful candidate must be able to read and understand basic drawings with good attention to detail; you will be part of a strong team who will help and assist you in the different tasks so that you can perform your duties to the required standard in the allocated time. We're looking for someone who doesn’t compromise on quality and is keen to bring a high level of craftsmanship to our products.
This role will report to the Department Manager.
Principle Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities are as follows:
Represent EJ Australia in positive and professional manner utilizing the Mission Vision, Values
General assembly / modification of products
Mig and stick welding
Packing and strapping finished products in a manner to ensure safe onward transportation
Recording products and time spent in fabricating works orders to completion
Conduct quality checks at different stages of product assembly to ensure compliance with EJ quality standards
Work closely with the Quality Assurance team (Business Improvement Manager and Production Manager) to identify and rectify any defects or issues.
Store product in a safe manner and maintain a clean organised work area
Any other duties as request from time to time
Skills and Experience
· Competent with a range of hand tools - angle grinders, belt sanders, drop saws and others reasonably expected to be used in our assembly work.
· Current LF Forklift License.
· Understand and read basic drawings with a strong attention to detail.
· Problem solver with a mechanical aptitude.
· Excellent time management, personal organisational and communication skills (you will be working with a small crew).
· Experience in quality control procedures and the ability to implement them in various stages of product assembly.
· Ability to work without close supervision.
· Good numeracy.
· Willingness to learn things a different way a must.
You will be part of a strong National Team who can help through one on one training, to assist you to in performing your duties to the standard and times required.
