L'Atelier for Children is our quality-focused Preschool and Pre-Kindy based in Scarborough, where our educational programs are designed, implemented and evaluated by our highly qualified early childhood teacher.

By adopting a Reggio Emilia approach to teaching and learning, alongside our large outdoor area that provides play-based learning and exploration, our aim is to enable children to become enthusiastic learners who are inquisitive, open-minded and find joy in the world around them.

About the role

As the successful applicant, your duties as an Early Childhood Educator will include but not be limited to:

• creating indoor and outdoor learning environments that inspire and motivate children to learn, imagine and create
• working with the team to create innovative and exciting play and inquiry-based learning programs
• documenting delivery of educational programs, children's interests and assessments of their learning/development needs
• leading, supporting and mentoring education assistants
• actively participating in team meetings to promote cohesiveness.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

• Full Australian working rights
• Diploma or Cert 3 in Early Childhood Education and Care
• Minimum 1-year experience working with children aged 2 to 5 years (pre-kindy or kindy age)
• Experience taking high quality observations
• Child Protection training
• Current WA Working with Children Check, Police Clearance, First Aid, CPR and Asthma/ Anaphylaxis Certificates
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• An understanding of the NQF and a continuous improvement philosophy

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience and practice with Reggio Emilia approach
• Indigenous studies background
• Experience in a genuine play based working environment
• Visual arts, music or yoga background
