Level 1 - $45,837.90- $81,117.20 per annum + 12% superannuation + Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
4-Year Full-Time, Fixed-Term Contract
Your Traineeship
As an Apprentice HD Mechanic, you'll get hands-on experience working with trucks, machinery, and mobile equipment that keep our town running. You'll be part of a supportive workshop team, learning how to service, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles and equipment-all while working toward a nationally recognised qualification (Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology).
What You'll Be Doing
As a trainee, you'll be learning on the job while supporting our experienced mechanics. You'll be:
- Assisting with repairs and maintenance of heavy and light vehicles and mobile equipment
- Learning how to safely diagnose faults and carry out mechanical servicing
- Following maintenance schedules and completing tasks within set timeframes
- Supporting the workshop team and helping out across Town Services when needed
- Participating in training and education to build your skills and meet your qualification requirements
- Following safety procedures and completing risk assessments for all tasks
- Providing friendly and efficient service when interacting with internal customers
This position is based on a fixed-term opportunity of for 4 Years whilst you complete Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology as part of an apprenticeship. You'll also be working alongside experienced team members every step of the way.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- Ability to apply for a White Card
- National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Current 'C' class drivers license
- Rights to work in Australia
