Responsibilities:
1. Support specific Domain Leaders and teaching teams to build a shared understanding of curriculum entitlement for all students at MGC.
2. Support the consistent implementation of evidence-based instructional approaches across all year levels, aligned with the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM) and the MGC Instructional Model.
Build teacher capacity through modelling, coaching, and facilitating professional learning.
4. Promote and guide consistent approaches to curriculum design, assessment practices, and instructional delivery within specific domains across Years 7 to 10.
5. Guide the development and documentation of a guaranteed and viable curriculum within specific domains, aligned with the MGC curriculum frameworks.
6. Foster a culture of reflective practice and collaboration within domains by supporting the use of student learning data, peer feedback, and inquiry to inform teaching and learning.
7. Collaborate with Domain Leaders to ensure curriculum and pedagogy are aligned, coherent, and responsive to student needs.
8. Contribute to whole-college improvement initiatives through active participation in professional learning communities and leadership of domain-level implementation.
9. Monitor the impact of pedagogical and curriculum practices within specific domains and provide feedback to support continuous improvement.
The Curriculum and Pedagogical Practices Learning Specialists will work together with the Curriculum Leaders and Professional Practice Learning Specialists as a team across the school.
The specific duties and responsibilities outlined in this role description may be varied or adjusted at the discretion of the principal to meet the evolving needs of the College.
Role:
The Curriculum and Pedagogical Practice Learning Specialists, led by the Curriculum and Pedagogical Practice Leading Teachers, work in partnership work in partnership with specific Domain Leaders to support the implementation of evidence-based teaching practices and high-quality curriculum planning across the college. Operating at the domain level, they build teacher capacity to promote consistency in curriculum entitlements, instructional and assessment approaches, aligned with the MGC curriculum frameworks.
The Curriculum and Pedagogical Practice Learning Specialists will lead specific Domain Leaders and staff to achieve:
A shared understanding of curriculum entitlement for students at MGC.
Consistent approaches to curriculum and assessment in specific domains across Years 7 to 10.
A documented guaranteed and viable curriculum in specific domains across Years 7 to 10.
Consistent, evidence based instructional approaches across all year levels in specific domains.
A shared and embedded understanding of the VTLM and MGC Instructional Model.
A culture of reflective practice, professional learning, and collaboration among teaching staff.
