Purpose of the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated Accountant with 1–2 years’ experience to join our team. This role is focused on tax compliance and business advisory work, assisting both individuals and businesses with their accounting needs. You will gain hands-on exposure to tax returns, BAS preparation, business advisory, and client relationship management, while working closely with managers and progressing towards managing your own client portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and lodge income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies.

Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS), Instalment Activity Statements (IAS), and other statutory compliance requirements.

Provide taxation and business advisory support, including cash flow analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Assist clients in developing tax planning strategies to ensure compliance and optimise outcomes.

Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other regulatory authorities on behalf of clients.

Support managers in reviewing and finalising jobs for presentation to clients.

Assist in supervising junior staff and managing workflow to ensure quality and timeliness of client deliverables.

Build and maintain strong relationships with individual and business clients, providing clear and professional advice.

Progress towards independently managing and servicing your own client base.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.

Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in public practice accounting.

Strong communication skills in both English and Vietnamese (spoken and written).

Sound knowledge of Australian tax and compliance requirements.

Strong organisational, analytical, and technology skills.

CPA or CA qualification (completed or working towards) highly regarded.
