The Role
The Senior Correspondence Officer in Cabinet and Executive Services supports the coordination and provision of comprehensive and timely ministerial and executive support to the Minister and the Director-General. The position provides high quality executive correspondence and briefing services, including a significant editorial focus and is also responsible for developing, managing and maintaining administrative systems and processes to ensure the efficient flow of ministerial and executive correspondence. The position provides support and guidance to the entire correspondence network in the department to ensure written standards are of a high quality.
Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Critically analyse and quality assure ministerial and executive correspondence to ensure the provision of quality, accurate and timely advice.
- Develop, monitor and evaluate systems and processes to support the flow of ministerial and executive correspondence and to oversee the provision of regular reports on the status of ministerial and executive correspondence to the Office of the Minister and the Office of the Director-General.
- Review responses to all ministerial, executive and other correspondence to ensure standard of presentation and compatibility with government policy and departmental style guides
- Liaise with departmental officers to ensure the effective preparation and coordination of ministerial and executive correspondence.
- Provide authoritative information and assistance with training and advice to departmental officers for the preparation of all types of ministerial and executive documentation.
