Play a key role in delivering vital infrastructure for your community as an Operations Crew Member with our dedicated construction team.

What you'll do?

As an Operations Crew Member you'll report to the Team Leader Construction and be responsible for supporting the construction and maintenance of Council’s Road and transport infrastructure. The role involves undertaking manual labouring tasks, operating small tools and machinery, and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, safe, and compliant outcomes for the community.

You'll take pride in contributing to projects that have a lasting impact, working outdoors in a dynamic environment where every day brings something different. Your work will directly support the safety, accessibility, and liveability of our region.

What you'll need to succeed

Demonstrated experience in construction and/or maintenance (roads and drainage) operating of small handheld tools, equipment and machinery relevant to the field equipment.

Proven ability to follow instructions within a team environment, and to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

Demonstrated ability in the use of computer applications, and operating devices effectively, embracing digital solutions for works activities to enable field productivity and scheduling based systems to facilitate day- to-day operations.

Ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders in delivering information on operational and maintenance services.

Hold and maintain C Class Drivers Licence, Traffic Control Combo (Stop Slow Bat and Implement Traffic Plans) and WHS Induction Card with a willingness to obtain within 12 months of employment; Level 1 Accredited Chainsaw course.

Other Requirements

Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical prior to commencement

Be willing to participate in on-call roster and overtime (where applicable)
