Immediate start for client-focused, qualified, experienced Disability Support Workers. Previous experience in supporting participants with complex care needs, mental health diagnosis, and behaviours of concern desired.

Casual Positions available, with the potential of permanent part-time contracts set at 60 hours per fortnight with additional shifts as possible to accommodate staff on leave. Ability to work a variety of shifts: Monday through Sunday. Flexible shifts based on client roster needs on a 24/7 rotating roster which includes evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekend shifts. Some shorter social shifts also available.

Previous experience required.

Responsibilities will include:

Meeting our clients’ individual needs in the least restrictive way possible

Mentoring clients and assisting them to develop skills - guiding people to develop independent living skills- “do with, not for”

Being a positive role model and provide positive support to our clients in areas such as emotional behaviour, assistance with personal care and hygiene, transport, education, cooking and domestic duties

Assisting in dispensing client medication and adherence to client support plans

Manual handling and transport

Completing clear, concise and factual handover notes and incident reports

Managing complex and challenging client behaviours (including aggressive behaviours)

Supporting our clients to engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities

Nurturing dignity, autonomy and positive self-esteem

What you will bring:

Hold or be working towards obtaining a qualification in disability support (preferred)

Positive attitude

Strong communication skills both written and verbal

Ability to take initiative and work as part of a team

Current driver’s license and registered vehicle (mandatory requirement)
