About Us

The Dogs’ Refuge Home has been saving and rehoming dogs in WA since 1935. Our on-site veterinary clinic will provide dedicated care for rescue dogs only, giving every dog the best chance at a healthy, happy life. Thanks to some very generous donors, we have recently been able to completely renovate our clinic area and purchase brand-new equipment. Aligning with our training philosophy, our clinic will use fear free methods to prioritise the emotional well-being of pets by using techniques to reduce fear, anxiety, and stress during visits, avoiding force for examinations or treatments. The clinic will service our rescue dogs and those returning for sterilisations.

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and highly organised Veterinary Nurse / Clinic Manager to join our team. This unique role blends hands-on nursing with leadership and management responsibilities, ensuring our small clinic runs smoothly while delivering the highest standard of care to our dogs.

Also recruiting full time, part time and casual nurses

Key Responsibilities

Providing high-quality nursing care, including anaesthetic monitoring, recovery, and patient handling

Assisting veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures

Overseeing daily clinic operations, rostering, and workflow

Managing stock, supplies, and equipment

Supporting and mentoring clinic staff and volunteers

Ensuring compliance with veterinary and shelter standards

Liaising with kennel, foster, and adoptions teams to coordinate care

About You

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)

Previous leadership, senior nurse, or clinic management experience highly regarded

Strong organisational and communication skills

Able to remain calm, compassionate, and professional in a busy rescue environment

A genuine love of dogs and commitment to animal welfare
