About the role

Recoverycare Australia Pty' is seeking a motivated and experienced Positive Behaviour Practitioner to join our team in Canberra ACT 2600. This is a casual role that will involve providing specialist support to individuals with complex support needs. As a Positive Behaviour Practitioner, you will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour and enhancing the quality of life for the people we support.

What you'll be doing

Developing and implementing positive behaviour support plans to address challenging behaviours

Providing person-centred support and interventions to help individuals develop adaptive skills and improve their quality of life

Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a coordinated approach to supporting individuals

Conducting functional behavioural assessments and analysis to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviours

Delivering training and coaching to support workers on positive behaviour support strategies

Maintaining detailed records and documentation in accordance with organisational and regulatory requirements

Participating in continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as psychology, social work, or allied health

Minimum 2 years' experience as a Positive Behaviour Practitioner or in a similar role supporting individuals with complex needs

Strong understanding of positive behaviour support principles and evidence-based interventions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement person-centred behaviour support plans

Proficient in conducting functional behavioural assessments and data analysis

Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands

Current First Aid certificate and a valid driver's licence
