About the role
As the Light Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll be at the heart of our client’s workshop team. Work on Japanese and European vehicles, carrying out repairs, maintenance, and light diagnostics. Reliability, teamwork, and hands-on skills are what they value most.

Duties

• Perform general service, repairs, and light diagnostics on light vehicles, primarily Japanese models with occasional Euro brands
• Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as timing belts, brakes, suspension, and minor troubleshooting.
• Identify complex issues and refer or escalate work to specialists or dealerships when needed.
• Work collaboratively within a small team, supporting apprentices and contributing to a positive workshop environment.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace at all times.
• Be a reliable, consistent presence in the workshop — technical perfection isn’t required, just dependability.
• Flexible approach to work, with options for 9-day fortnights or 4-day working weeks to suit team and personal needs.

Skills and experience

• Trade-qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic (Certificate III in Automotive).
• Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in light vehicle servicing and repairs.
• Strong experience with Japanese vehicles; exposure to European makes is a plus.
• QLD Roadworthy Certificate highly regarded but not essential (training/licensing can be provided).
• Able to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a small team.
• Must have full working rights in Australia (482 visa holders are welcome to apply).
