About Headstart:
Headstart Melbourne is a youth-focused organisation dedicated to supporting boys and young men facing significant challenges. We currently deliver 1:1 support work, group programs, and counselling services in the community and in our Cheltenham warehouse/office; a space fitted out with a gym, arcade, creative areas, and therapy rooms.

With our recent expansion into allied health, we are looking for our first Senior Occupational Therapist to join the team on a casual basis, with the opportunity to step into a permanent Clinical Lead role as the service grows.

About the Role:
This is a chance to shape a brand-new service inside an organisation already trusted by families, schools and support coordinators. As a Senior OT, you’ll provide therapy that helps young people build independence, regulation, and confidence across all parts of their life.

Your work will be a mix of environments:

Office/Clinic: assessments, sessions in our purpose-built warehouse.

School: supporting participation, routines and liaising with teachers.

Community: helping young people apply skills in real-world settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver functional assessments, ADL programs, sensory and participation supports.

Provide therapy sessions across office, school and community contexts.

Write clear, practical reports for families, schools and support coordinators.

Collaborate with our support work and counselling teams to offer wraparound care.

Contribute to building OT systems and mentor junior OTs as the team expands.

What We’re Looking For:

AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist.

3+ years’ paediatric/adolescent experience (NDIS experience highly regarded).

Confident in functional assessments, ADLs and regulation strategies.

Comfortable supporting adolescents with complex behaviours.

Excellent report writing and communication skills.

Current WWCC, NDIS Worker Screening Check, PI insurance.
