Role overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Engineer to join our team in support of a major financial client. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in building scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Java, Spring and Spring Boot frameworks. Familiarity with Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) and Agile development methodologiesis essential.

You will be working on mission-critical systems that support financial operations, contributing to both greenfield development and modernization of legacy systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.

• Implement and advocate for Event-Driven Architecture and microservices-based solutions.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to iterative software delivery.

• Write clean, scalable, and testable code following best practices and coding standards.

• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

• Work closely with DevOps and QA teams to streamline CI/CD and testing pipelines.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java (preferably Java 11 or newer).

• Strong experience with Spring Framework (including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, etc.).

• Minimum 5+ years of commercial Spring Framework experience is required.

• Solid understanding and practical experience with Event-Driven Architecture and messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).

• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

• Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

• Exposure to DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in the financial services industry or other regulated environments.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

• Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards in financial systems.
