About the role

This is a full-time role based in Bowen, QLD, supporting the Store Manager in leading the talented team at the Ampol Bowen retail store. As the 2IC Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial part in the day-to-day operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and driving the store's commercial performance.

What you'll be doing

Assist the Store Manager in overseeing all aspects of store operations, including inventory management, staff scheduling, and cash handling

Provide excellent customer service and be the face of the store, ensuring customers have a positive experience every time they visit

Lead and motivate the store team, providing coaching and training to support their development

Contribute to the implementation of marketing and promotional initiatives to drive sales and customer penetration

Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and security policies and procedures

Support the Store Manager in strategic decision-making and the development of the store's business plan

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years' experience in a retail management or supervisory role, preferably within a convenience or fuel retail environment

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team

Excellent customer service skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences

Proficient in using retail management software and point-of-sale systems

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work autonomously

Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
