We are currently implementing new ERP system seeks to improve technology and processes to support our strategic goals of our Plan on a Page 2024-2027 and Community Strategic Plan. We are seeking an experienced Expenditure Coordinator to join our Finance team. The Expenditure Coordinator is responsible for contributing to the timely and accurate management of suppliers’ invoices, bonds & deposits processes, and maintaining relevant financial information and system according to the Council’s policies and Local Government Act and Regulations.

About the role:
- To ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions (i.e. suppliers’ invoices, bonds & deposits, reconciliations) and to ensure compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory obligations of the Council.
- Undertake analysis to facilitate ongoing financial control, including review and develop relevant policies/procedures and business processes for productivity and benefits realization from new ERP implementation.
- You will be a true team player – fostering an environment of integrity, innovation and collaboration.
- Lead and develop a team in a values led, community-focused environment.
- Supporting the preparation of financial reports and audits as required
What you’ll bring?
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience in an accounting environment.
- So professional knowledge and proven ability in all aspects of expenditure financial management and accounting.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills for a customer focused environment, demonstrating a proven ability to deal with issues in a pleasant and courteous manner, particularly in the area of resolving customer complaints and enquiries.
- Effective time management skills with a proven ability to plan and prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines are met and a high standard is maintained.
- Proven record of identifying, initiating and implementing process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability in the effective supervision of staff to provide clear leadership, direction and to promote personal development.
- Proven experience in managing creditor payments to comply with legislative requirements and prescribed credit terms.
- A strong commitment to delivering quality customer service.
- A positive, professional and co-operative approach to working with others
- Experience with TechnologyOne and Pathway are desirable
