Want to make a real difference for sick, injured and orphaned native animals? We’re looking for a Casual Wildlife Veterinarian to join our passionate team at Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital.

🌿 About Us

Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital is Australia’s largest mobile wildlife hospital, now expanding into a purpose-built bricks-and-mortar facility. We provide expert, free veterinary care for native wildlife, 7 days a week. In the past 4 years, we’ve treated almost 8,000 patients — from tiny tree frogs to wedge-tailed eagles .

🩺 About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, adaptable veterinarian with a strong interest in wildlife and conservation medicine. Shifts are casual, covering planned leave and busy periods, working alongside an amazing team of wildlife vets, nurses and volunteers.

You’ll get to:

Diagnose and treat a wide range of native species

Perform surgery, anaesthesia and emergency care

Support rehab outcomes with wildlife carers

Contribute to disease surveillance and research programs

Work in a unique, purpose-driven hospital environment

🙌 About You

BVSc (or equivalent) + registration (or eligibility) in NSW

Experience in small animal and/or wildlife/exotics practice

Confident with emergency medicine and surgery

Flexible, collaborative and calm under pressure

Passionate about wildlife conservation & animal welfare
