This position works with the Activities Coordinator to support clients attending Balwyn Evergreen’s social support group activities. As the Lifestyle Assistant, you’ll be part of an experienced and dedicated team Activities and Social Support Team and play a pivotal part in the planning and implementation of diverse and interesting programs for older people that aim to encourage socialisation and friendships among participants and integration into the community. The programs are planned and delivered, achieving maximum benefit for the individual participants within the policy and financial guidelines of Balwyn Evergreen and the Commonwealth Home Support program (CHSP).

This role is three days a week, 22.8 hours.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

Experience in delivering centre-based supported lifestyle programs for older people living in the community.

Excellent interpersonal skills for communicating with a diverse range of volunteers, older people and colleagues and sensitivity in working with a range of diverse cultures.

Experience in working with older people living with dementia and chronic illness.

Ability to identify issues early and develop practical solutions to mitigate risk.

You will be required to provide evidence of or be prepared to obtain:

A current NDIS

Cert IV in Leisure & Health or higher

Strong Communication skills

Previous experience in an Aged Care setting (desirable, not essential)

Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
