The plant is conveniently located halfway between Sydney and Melbourne on the Hume Highway in the beautiful foothills of the Snowy Mountains which is a prime lamb growing region.

The business has recently completed an exciting expansion project to increase annual production capacity, export certification, and increased automation. We are seeking skilled and motivated Forklift Operators that have the desire to join a hardworking team which takes pride in our product.

Key Responsibilities:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to transport, load, and unload materials within the Gundagai Meat Processors facility. The role ensures the timely movement of products, adherence to safety protocols, and maintenance of warehouse organisation and cleanliness.

Operates Forklift/Hi-Reach.

Unloading and loading product off/onto trucks.

Transporting supplies/product to different section of the site.

Completes inventory measurement i.e. keeping track of quantity and location of items in storage, ensuring that products are easily accessible for production and shipment requirements.

Ensure correct paperwork is completed and provided to truck-drivers.

Storing products in cold storage (freezers and refrigerated areas) and ensuring proper inventory control. This includes stacking meat products in a way that ensures safety, freshness and compliance with quality standards.

Performing regular checks on the forklift and reporting any maintenance issues or necessary repairs to the supervisor/maintenance team.

Coordinating with production employees, shipping/receiving teams and supervisors to ensure the correct products are available at the right time and place.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

Minimum Certificate II or III OR one year of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications

One (1) to two (2) years’ previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or meat processing environment (or similar), depending on qualifications held (if any)

Valid forklift licence

Good communication sills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping

Able to work within a diverse environment

Able to work independently and within a team
