Our Homemakers are dedicated to empowering our residents to embrace life fully. From the moment they wake up until they retire for the night, our team is there to provide unwavering support, whether it's aiding in daily decisions or fostering engagement in various activities. We encourage residents to participate in cooking, gardening, shopping, and other day-to-day tasks, allowing those living with dementia or the frail aged to focus on their capabilities rather than limitations. What sets our Homemakers apart is their innate curiosity and their ability to uncover what brings out the best in each resident.
Role Overview:
- Engage with residents in a gentle, warm, and authentic manner.
- Attend to residents' personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Assist with general household chores, including cleaning and laundry.
- Staff are to be resident focussed and not task focussed, people will come first.
- Staff will be working with the same residents and the same staff to ensure understanding of each residents differing needs and varied interests. Caring for someone encompasses spiritual and emotional needs and not just about care needs.
- Accompany and support residents during community outings.
Environment:
- McNally house is a premium aged care home located in Upper Mt Gravatt
- Each level is unique both in layout and design. All bedrooms are spacious and caters for residents differing care needs. The living spaces offers residents a sense of ownership and personalisation.
- Working in a small house environment with only 10 female residents in each house
- McNally house is a premium aged care home located in Upper Mt Gravatt with a state-of-the-art gym located on the third level
- You will be working with the same residents and valued team members to ensure the experience for our residents is always at an optimum

About You:
- Enthusiastic and compassionate about delivering high quality service with the ability to thrive in a collaborative household environment.
- Strong communication, organisational, and computer literacy skills.
- Capacity to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- Part Time hours are on offer
- National Police Check required; Driver's License an advantage.
- Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (or similar) and two years of relevant experience
