(Just) Senior Traffic Engineer
SONDA Recruitment
Posted 23 hours ago
Tired of feeling like every day’s the same? Projects all blurring into one? Maybe you’re burnt out, or just itching for something that actually gets you excited again.
This is that role. The one that reminds you why you chose traffic engineering in the first place and one with progress, a career plan and a distinct pathway.
You make this your own.
What's in it for me?
1. Career development plan starting as a Traffic Engineer or Senior Traffic Engineer, you'll round off any gaps in your current experience and then move forwards. Whilst title isn't a big deal here, you'll certainly gain lots of experience in TIAs, fee submissions and bids, client liaison, road safety audits, traffic and parking analysis.
Pojects are small and large - there's plenty of larger public realm projects you'll be keen to work on too.
2. Cool people. Motivated. Engaged. Smart people - both those you work with and your clients. Surround yourself with those who inspire you.
3. Funky CBD office with WFH flexibility 2 days per week. A mature environment where hard work is norm. However, you'll reap rewards.
4. Contribution to our local and national engineering footprint. Choose projects which make you tick. Choose clients whos values you align with. You have a say in what you work on. Make it meaningful.
5. Technical progression. The above sounds awesome, who wouldn't want to work here? In addition though, you will still benefit from the technical guidance of other traffic, transport, civil and structural engineers and designers. This team knows it's engineering inside out. You will be learning.
6. Autonomy and agency. You making it happen - you'll get all the work vibes and buzz you need. Short, sharp feedback from mentors, we grasp concepts quickly, we change, we flex, we move forward.
What are we looking for?
- SIDRA modelling skills
- Car parking and demand assessments experience
- Intersection - concept design
- Active travel - concept design
- Ability to deliver smaller projects yourself, end to end.
- Ability to supervise others on the above
- Great grasp of Austroads, Australian Standards and DTP design / technical guidelines and standards.
- Good knowledge of general traffic and transport industry i.e. planning phase and delivery.
- Savvy written skills so you can prepare fee proposals and write an eloquent email.
- TIA, traffic analysis and general traffic engineering skills - you'll need to know how the traffic sector in Melbourne works.
It's a fair ask.
It's a GREAT role.
We need someone local to Melbourne.
You'll be paid between $95k and $125k p/a plus Super. We'd consider someone with a higher salary too - if you feel you're keen on this business, please call.
