The Operational Services (Rural) at the Bowen Hospital is seeking applications for a Operational Officer (Mixed Skills) to join their team on a casual basis.

Your opportunity

This position will be responsible for providing support services for a patient centred health care environment including cleaning, linen services, food services assistant, removal of waste, transportation of equipment and materials around the hospital. This position will require the ability to achieve the required quality and safety standards that are set within the department initiative and sound judgement, exercise a degree of autonomy and to work with and provide support for supervisor operational service. This position is on a 14 day rotating roster with various day shifts including weekends.

About the Team

The Operational Services Department at Bowen Hospital plays an important role in providing a 7 day a week service supporting the delivery of a quality and cost-effective health service. A wide range of functions are covered by the team, including cleaning, clinical support, facility maintenance coordination, food services, grounds maintenance, garden services, home care services, removal of waste, linen services, transport of equipment and materials around the hospital, stores, transport and ward services. This position will also be required to work with, and provide support and advice to the NUM, Clinical/Ward Team Leader and/or Business Manager.
