About Us:
DCC Industry Group is dedicated to enriching lives through our key divisions: Youth & Communities, Allied Health, Workforce, and Disability Services. Our goal is to provide services that empower individuals across all stages of life, supporting their well-being and personal growth in every aspect of their journey.

About The Role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Disability Support Worker with experience supporting very high-functioning young people who present with complex mental health needs. This role is ideal for someone who understands the unique challenges faced by youth living with conditions such as personality disorders, disrupted attachments, and experiences of suicidal ideation. Experience in managing significant mental health issues, including crisis responses and emotional regulation, will be highly regarded.

You will be working closely with young clients who are navigating mental health challenges while maintaining a high level of independence. The focus is on building trust-based relationships, promoting emotional stability, and encouraging personal growth. Your role will be to provide practical and emotional support, build social and community connections, and assist with life skills development — all while maintaining a trauma-informed and youth-centred approach.
The shifts for this position fall within the hours of 8am and 4pm Tuesday to Wednesday and 8am to 2pm every second Saturday and Sunday, so we are looking for candidates with reasonable availability.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Provide consistent, strengths-based support to clients in managing daily routines and mental well-being

Offer emotional support and help clients develop healthy coping strategies

Assist with medication prompts and daily living tasks such as meal preparation, cleaning, and laundry

Facilitate community participation, including social outings, appointments, education, or volunteering

Respond to behaviours of concern using trauma-informed, person-centred approaches

Work collaboratively with the broader team, including mental health professionals, to support individual plans and goals

Culturally inclusive and supportive environment

Training and on-going support with the opportunity for career progression.
